Øystein Børsum has been Deputy Governor of Norges Bank since 2 August 2021 and has particular responsibility for the Government Pension Fund Global. Previously, he was chief economist at Swedbank and held positions in the Budget and Asset Management Departments of Norway’s Ministry of Finance. He holds a degree in economics from the NHH Norwegian School of Economics, master’s degrees from Sciences Po and the London School of Economics, and a doctorate in economics from the University of Oslo.
