Consumer Price Index (CPI)

What is CPI? The Consumer Price Index measures the average change in prices paid by consumers, and is the most widely followed inflation indicator in forex.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures the average change over time in the prices paid by urban consumers for a basket of goods and services. It is the most widely followed inflation indicator.

CPI is released monthly by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in the US. It includes categories like food, housing, transportation, and medical care. Core CPI excludes volatile food and energy prices.
