Fabio Panetta has been Governor of Banca d'Italia since 1 November 2023 and is also Chairman of the joint Governing Board of IVASS. He was a member of the European Central Bank's Executive Board from 2020 to 2023 and Deputy Governor of Banca d'Italia from 8 October 2012 to 9 May 2019. He graduated with honours in Economics from LUISS University in 1982 and earned an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from the London Business School.
