Joachim Nagel has been President of the Deutsche Bundesbank since January 2022 and is a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank. He was Deputy Head of the Banking Department at the Bank for International Settlements from 2020 to 2021 and served on the Deutsche Bundesbank’s Executive Board from 2010 to 2016, after earlier roles in its Markets directorate. He earned a PhD in 1997 and a degree in economics in 1991 from the University of Karlsruhe. Source ↗
