Mārtiņš Kazāks is Governor of Latvijas Banka and was elected to a second term on 6 February 2025. Earlier, he worked in the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia and held chief economist and macroeconomic research roles at Hansabank and Swedbank; he was appointed to the Council of Latvijas Banka effective 1 August 2018.
